UAE, Japan to enhance, develop cooperation in vital sectors

The Japanese Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe, received His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and his accompanying delegation.
Sheikh Abdullah conveyed the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and expressed their wishes for Japan to achieve more progress and development.
The Prime Minister, in turn, conveyed his greeting to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, and extended reciprocal wishes for the UAE’s progress and prosperity.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways of enhancing and developing cooperation between the UAE and Japan in all fields including technology, agriculture, renewable energy, defence and space exploration. They also discussed the latest developments in the region and exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of common concern.
Sheikh Abdullah emphasised the historical relations between the UAE and Japan and the keenness of both countries’ leaderships to enhance them in various fields.
Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, in turn, welcomed Sheikh Abdullah’s visit, emphasising its importance in developing mutual cooperation.
The meeting was attended by the UAE Ambassador to Japan, Khaled Amran Al Ameri.

Crown Prince Naruhito of Japan received HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations and develop joint cooperation. They also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of common concern and discussed the latest developments in the region.
Prince Naruhito welcomed Sheikh Abdullah’s visit, emphasising his country’s eagerness to strengthen relations with the UAE in various sectors. He also praised the UAE’s achievements in terms of a comprehensive cultural renaissance, thanks to the vision of its leadership.
Sheikh Abdullah stressed the UAE’s keenness to further advance the unique and strong ties with Japan.
UAE-Japan to enhance
educational ties

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah met Yoshimasa Hayashi, Japanese Minister of Education, Culture, Sports,
Science and Technology.
During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations and means of developing them in various fields, including education, science and technology and space exploration.
Sheikh Abdullah affirmed the UAE’s keenness to enhance cooperation with Japan in all fields, including education, especially with the presence of a number of UAE students studying in Japanese universities, as well as a number of Japanese students studying in UAE universities.
Minister Hayashi also praised the high level of education and cultural renaissance witnessed by the UAE, which will boost cooperation between the two countries.
Family of famed Japanese
architect honoured

HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan honoured the family of the late Dr. Katsuhiko Takahashi.
Dr Takahashi was a pioneering Japanese architect who played a principal role in drawing the Master Plan of Abu Dhabi under the close guidance of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in the 1960s.
His Highness delivered a letter of appreciation and thanks to Dr. Takahashi’s family in recognition of the late architect’s impact on Abu Dhabi’s urban landscape, in line with celebrations marking the Year of Zayed.

Abdullah meets UAE students

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation met UAE students studying in a number of Japanese universities, in the presence of Dr Ahmad bin Abdullah Humaid Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of State for Higher Education and Advanced Skills.
The meeting is part of Sheikh Abdullah’s official visit to Japan, as well as to motivate country’s citizens abroad to excel in scientific excellence and return home with the most advanced skills and knowledge that will enable them to play a leading role in development and prosperity of the country in all fields. The UAE students reviewed a number of innovative projects carried out by them during their studies in Japan.
