Expo 2020 Dubai signs deal to protect intellectual property copy

Expo 2020 Dubai Bureau announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Emirates Intellectual Property Association (EIPA), to raise awareness about the importance of protecting intellectual property.
The MoU was signed by Najeeb Mohammed Al-Ali, Executive Director of Dubai Expo 2020Bureau, and Dr Abdul Qaddous Al Obaidli, Assistant Commander for Quality
and Excellence in Dubai Police and Chairman of the Emir-
ates Intellectual Property
Association.
Through the MoU, both parties will cooperate on joint initiatives and projects to develop a joint strategy for protecting Expo 2020 Dubai’s intellectual property, logo, and its trademark locally and internationally, in addition to raising awareness on all levels and developing a comprehensive culture for protecting intellectual property rights related to the event.
Najeeb Al-Ali said, “We value the efforts of the EIPA in raising awareness and protecting intellectual property. We are confident that the association will play an important role in protecting Expo 2020 Dubai trademark locally and internationally.
“This MoU is one of several agreements signed with government entities and organisations to ensure we host an exceptional world expo that reflects the outstanding reputation of the UAE.”
Al-Ali added that protecting intellectual property embodies Expo 2020 Dubai theme, ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future’, as protecting intellectual property encourages the exchange and development of ideas in a safe environment that protects everyone’s rights.”
