Advanced R&D in Dubai: HBS & BITS Pilani Partnership

AHMEDABAD / GULF TIME

Exploring new horizons in medical and self-care technology requires collaborating with the best. The visionary founder of Kollagen wound care technology, Dr Manoj Jain and Human BioSciences President, Rohan Jain, traveled this past week to Dubai. The Jain Family met with leaders of the premier engineering institute of the UAE at the Birla Institute of Technology and Science at the Pilani Dubai campus.
Additionally, HBS is now the regional distribution partner for PureHealth, the largest integrated healthcare network in the United Arab Emirates. PureHealth has a mission to provide people with access to life-advancing advancement in all settings, including hospitals, clinics, diagnostics, insurance, pharmacies, health tech, procurement, and more.
“Collaborating with educational institutions and healthcare partners allows the development of our new products to remain on the cutting edge for the medical community,” states Dr Manoj Jain, founder of Human BioSciences and pioneer of collagen use in wound care. “We have big plans for advancement, and partnerships like this ensure continued growth.”
Chronic wounds continue to be a significant public health burden in 2023. Chronic leg ulcers are the most prevalent issue and can arise from various healthcare conditions such as poor circulation, chronic edema or lymphedema, diabetes and infection. The wound care market is an industry worth over $20 billion, which includes the cost of products, development, education and patient care.
“We believe our collagen-based products are an integral piece of the puzzle to help people recover from difficult wounds in a timely manner. With over 30 years of experience in the wound care business, HBS intends to continue producing the best products to treat a variety of wounds,” said Rohan Jain, President of Human BioSciences.
Many chronic wounds are in a prolonged inflammatory state and unable to advance through the normal healing cascade. When paired with proper medical management that addresses the root cause of the open wound, collagen-based wound care dressings provide the body with fundamental building blocks of skin to encourage new tissue growth. While HBS collagen products are commonly used in wound centers, burn centres or hospital formularies, typically, those wounds have already achieved a chronic state or the patient is significantly debilitated with advanced disease. Advancing ways to make similar products easily accessible to the general population with innovation and design is a hopeful new direction for wound care.
“We are thrilled to announce two pivotal milestones in our journey to redefine wound care. Our collaboration with BITS Pilani in Dubai for cutting-edge Research and Development signifies a significant leap in our commitment to innovation.
This partnership combines our expertise in collagen-based wound care with BITS Pilani’s world-class research capabilities, creating a synergy that promises groundbreaking advancements in wound care products. Simultaneously, we are equally excited about our strategic partnership with PureHealth, the leading integrated healthcare network in the UAE,” said Rohan Jain, President of Human BioSciences.
“Our alliance with PureHealth as the regional distribution partner is a testament to our shared dedication to making life-advancing wound care products accessible to people across the United Arab Emirates. PureHealth’s commitment to enhancing healthcare in various settings, from hospitals and clinics to diagnostics and pharmacies, aligns perfectly with our mission to provide the most effective wound care solutions to those in need”, he added.
“These collaborations are more than partnerships; they are the cornerstone of a brighter, healthier future for individuals facing the challenges of chronic wounds. Our commitment to innovation, research, and accessibility is unwavering, and we look forward to the journey ahead with immense enthusiasm. With these partnerships, we are not only redefining wound care but also reimagining the possibilities for healthcare in the UAE and beyond,” said Rohan Jain.
