UAE, Japan keen to boost ties in economic and industrial sectors

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, met Hiroshige Seko, Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, during his current official visit to Japan.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral relations between the UAE and Japan and ways of boosting and developing them in the economic, investment and industrial fields, as well as the mechanism of increasing trade volume exchange between the two countries.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed re-affirmed the distinguished relations between the UAE and Japan and the keenness of both countries’ leaderships to enhance them in various fields.
Minister Seko, in turn, welcomed Sheikh Abdullah’s visit, emphasising its importance in developing mutual cooperation.

Abdullah meets Japanese agriculture minister
HH Sheikh Abdullah also met Japanese Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Ken Saito. During the meeting, which was held as part of Sheikh Abdullah’s official visit to Japan, they discussed joint cooperation and ways of boosting them in the areas of agriculture and food security.
Sheikh Abdullah emphasised his keenness to enhance bilateral cooperation with Japan, pointing out that the UAE has recently appointed a Minister of State for Food Security. He also praised the huge development witnessed by the agricultural sector in Japan.
Minister Saito, in turn, welcomed Sheikh Abdullah’s visit, stressing its importance in strengthening the partnership between the UAE and Japan, which will benefit the peoples of both countries.
The meeting was attended by UAE Ambassador to Japan Khaled Amran Al Ameri.

Meeting with Japanese defence minister
HH Sheikh Abdullah met Japanese Minister of Defence Itsunori Onodera. During the meeting, the two sides discussed mutual cooperation and friendship relations, especially in the military and defence fields. They also exchanged views on the latest developments in the region and discussed a number of regional and international issues of common concern.
Sheikh Abdullah re-affirmed the deep relations between the UAE and Japan and their keenness to enhance bilateral cooperation in all fields.
The Japanese Minister, in turn, welcomed Sheikh Abdullah’s visit, reiterating its importance in strengthening cooperation between the two countries. He also praised the UAE’s role and its initiatives to support the international community’s efforts in bringing stability and peace worldwide.
The meeting was attended by UAE Ambassador to Japan Khaled Amran Al Ameri.
