SEDD resolved 1,056 complaints in Q1

Consumer protection complaints occupied the maximum share with 837 among the total 1,056 complaints resolved by the Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD), during the first quarter (Q1), of the current year.
Sultan Abdullah bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, Chairman of SEDD, said that the Department took all the necessary action to deal with consumer complaints. It has even intensified its inspection campaigns on markets to ensure protection and enhance consumer confidence. He also stressed on SEDD’s concerns to improve transparency and facilitate the relationship between the provider and the consumer.
The cars and spare parts sector saw the largest share of complaints at a rate of 24 percent. Electronics and mobile phones reached 15 percent, and the electrical appliances and building materials’ sector reached 13 percent, while the remaining complaints were distributed to a number of other sectors.
