MoE awarded global recognition for innovation

In acknowledgement of its management improvement initiatives and efforts to strengthen a culture of innovation, the UAE Ministry of Economy has got the international certification of TS 16555-1 for Innovation System Management from Britain’s LIoyd’s Register.
The certification, a global testament to the Ministry of Economy’s endeavors to improve performance and reduce risks, providing credibility for stakeholders through the globally recognised LRQA brand, has been received by Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy, in presence of a number of the ministry’s
executives.
Commenting on the global recognition, Al Mansouri underscored the paramount importance attached by the Ministry to innovation, being one of the major catalysts for economic diversification, noting that the ministry spares no efforts to adopt innovation-based best practices and consistently encourage the employees to come up with creative initiatives that effectively contribute to the sustainable development drive, enhance public services. and ensure welfare standards.
Lloyd’s Register is a global engineering, technical and business services organisation wholly owned by the Lloyd’s Register Foundation, a UK charity dedicated to research and education in science and engineering. Founded in 1760 as a marine classification society, LR now operates across many industry sectors, with over
9,000 employees based in 78 countries.
Present during the awards meeting were Mohammed Ahmed Bin Abdul Aziz Al Shehhi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy for Economic Affairs, and Dr. Abdullah Soliman Al Hammadi, Director of Strategy and Future Department and Innovation Chief Executive at the Ministry of Economy.
