Al Qasba Sharjah’s premiere leisure, tourism and family destination will on Wednesday host the last performances of its musical version of ‘Cinderella,’ the famous fairy tale originally written by the 17th century French poet Charles Perrault and now one of the most popular tales of our times. The final showings in the play’s three-day run will take place at the Masrah Al Qasba Theatre.
The three-daily performances of Cinderella at Al Qasba have gathered a large number of families and children who have been interacting with the shows’ uplifting theatrics and sing-a-long musical score. The event has proved to be an ideal platform for the creation of an intimate atmosphere for generations to celebrate the Eid spirit together, with families enjoying being part of one of the most melodic and inspiring shows in the world of fairy tales.
“We are delighted with the success of Cinderella and the huge audience turn-out for every show during its tenure. The numbers of people of all ages who arrived to take part in the show has confirmed our confidence in bringing one of the most beloved and popular fairy tales to Al Qasba. The parents and children attending have engaged enthusiastically with the characters, music and story of Cinderella, cheering loudly and calling for an encore at each ending,” said Sultan Mohammed Shattaf, Al Qasba Manager.
“The play’s production has been of the highest quality, featuring a special troupe of actors and comedians who have enthralled the audience with their exceptional performances, winning the admiration of all those attending,” he added.
Shattaf concluded, “Our mission behind hosting such events is to deliver an array of educational and entertainment activities all year round, with the aim of providing a fertile cultural environment thatcaters to people of all nationalities and ages. Wonderful family shows such as this Cinderella musical help attract more visitors to Al Qasba and enable families to spend quality time together.”
Visitors to Al Qasba are being treated to recreational shows alongside the beautiful Al Qasba walkways, where Cinderella’s artists and performers tour for 30 minutes before each show, talking to visitors and enticing them to book a spot at the theatre.
The interactions are taking place under an evening sky lit up by dazzling fireworks in celebration of Eid Al-Adha, which leaves spectators in awe.
