UAE and Azerbaijan to strengthen economic ties

Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy, and Dashgin Shikarov, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the UAE, on Sunday discussed the means to develop and strengthen economic and development ties between the two countries.
Al Mansouri received the Ambassador of Azerbaijan at the ministry’s headquarters in Dubai, in the presence of Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Saleh, Under-Secretary of the Ministry
of Economy for Foreign Trade and
Industry.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the distinguished relations between the UAE and the Republic of Azerbaijan in various economic fields and ways of enhancing them, as well as the most prominent sectors of mutual interest. They also discussed focusing on developing aspects of cooperation into the future, most notably in aviation, tourism, agricultural investment and food industries, transport and
infrastructure.
The parties stressed the importance of continuing to strengthen joint efforts to encourage and motivate entrepreneurs and investors to expand their investments in the markets of the two countries and to build partnerships serving development goals, upgrading trade exchange to higher levels.
Al Mansouri confirmed the strength of bilateral relations between the two countries, which have seen great development in the past supported by high-level visits from both sides, which have contributed to boosting economic and trade cooperation relations. He noted the importance of continuing joint exchange visits as one of the main tools for the consolidation of relations between the two countries as they provide a chance to get closely acquainted with the available opportunities and the exchange of experiences and information between the parties.
Shikarov stressed his country’s keenness to develop its relations with the UAE in all fields, especially in the economic, trade and investment areas to improve the quality of economic cooperation to advanced levels. To that end, he extended an invitation to Al Mansouri to visit Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, leading a UAE trade and investment delegation, to explore broader areas of mutual cooperation.
He pointed out his country’s interest in expanding cooperation in the field of aviation and called on all UAE airlines to intensify flights to Azerbaijan to enhance air traffic and to strengthen the commercial and tourist exchanges between the two countries.
The Ambassador called on Emirati investors to enhance their presence in the Azerbaijani market, stressing his country efforts to facilitate and encourage the creation of joint investments to serve the development interests of both countries.
