The ultimate record-breaking roller coaster ‘Flying Aces’ launched on Wednesday at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, delivering a unique, adrenaline-fueled experience for roller coaster lovers and thrill seekers alike.
The exciting new ride was unveiled at an exclusive launch event attended by HE Mohamed Khalifa
Al Mubarak, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority,
and Mohamed Abdulla Al Zaabi,
CEO of Miral Asset Management (Miral). More than 100 esteemed guests and an official delegation from various embassies also attended the launch.
Commenting on the launch of Flying Aces, Jesse Vargas, General Manager at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi said: “Following the introduction of two new attractions in 2015, we are starting 2016 with the biggest ride unveiling since our grand opening, with the launch of the incredible, record-breaking roller coaster, Flying Aces. This coaster will surprise guests with never-before experienced thrills and it further cements Ferrari World Abu Dhabi’s reputation as a pioneer in the region’s leisure and entertainment industry. A theme park evolution on this scale is unheard of and we are so proud to bring even more fun to one of Abu Dhabi’s premier leisure destinations, Yas Island.”
Flying Aces will provide thrill-seekers with the opportunity to earn their wings as they enjoy a gravity defying experience onboard the flight of a lifetime. The record breaking ride, with the world’s tallest loop at 52 meters and steepest and fastest cable lift incline at 51 degrees, employed the most innovative technologies during its construction.
“When guests visit the park, they will get a sense of the evolution taking place under our iconic red roof. The unprecedented expansion, marking a breakthrough in the theme park industry, will not only amaze guests with more thrilling and exciting attractions, but will also promise them incomparable fun
and family-friendly entertainment”, added Vargas.
The bi-plane themed roller coaster is the ultimate test of courage with an exhilarating 135 second journey that reaches a speed of 120kmph along a 1.5km track. The ride mimics extreme gravity-defying flight acrobatics (including a non-inverted loop), rapid twists and turns and plenty of nail-biting moments. Linking to the rich heritage of Ferrari, the ride will take guests back in time to the early 1900s, to understand and appreciate the history of the legendary Prancing Horse emblem.

This gravity-defying roller coaster, will give thrill seekers who come to Yas Island and Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, a one-of-a-kind experience,” said Mohamed Al Zaabi, CEO of Miral.

At the launch event, guests witnessed a live action-packed show as a Ferrari California T took to the road and went head-to-head with a XIII SPAD bi-plane along Yas Island Leisure Drive. The celebration then moved to the sky where the plane’s impressive aerobatic skills were showcased.
The launch of Flying Aces kick-starts a phenomenal year for Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, as it gets set to reveal a series of unmatchable new rides and attractions. The line-up of new experiences promises unique thrills and family fun at the Park for guests of all ages.
