The Emirates Securities Market Index has decreased by -1.18% to close at 4450.65 points. Accordingly the Market Capitalization has lost AED 8.59 billion attaining AED 721.95 billion. A total of 0.52 Billion Shares were traded with a total value of AED 0.61 billion during the trading session of 24-03-2016 through 7186 transactions.
The number of companies which has been traded is 61 out of 128 companies listed in the market. Shares for 14 companies were advanced, whereas shares for 42 companies were declined and the rest remained unchanged.
Amlak Finance Company came at the top of the most active companies with a trade value of AED 97.77 million distributed over 58.51 Million Shares through 799 transactions. Gulf Finance House came at the second top of the most active companies with a trade value of AED 58.86 million distributed over 69.64 Million Shares through 559 transactions.
SHUAA Capital shares has achieved the highest increase in the price which closed at AED 0.54 with 14.89% increase during the trading of 94.22 Million Shares with a trade value of AED 48.43 million. Whereas RAK Bank shares Increased by 5.92% to close at AED 5.90 during the trading of 393.94 thousand Shares with a trade value of AED 2.28 million.
RAK Ceramics has achieved the lowest decline by -9.94% to close at AED 3.17 during the trading of 379.15 thousand Shares with a trade value of AED 1.27 million. Followed by Arkan Building Material which dropped by -6.25% to close at AED 0.90 during the trading of 18.58 Thousand Shares with a trade value of AED 16.72 thousand.
Since the beginning of the year, the percentage change in the Emirates Securities Market index has an increase by 3.991%, with a total accumulated trade value of AED 53.97 billion. The number of companies which has achieved a rise in its market price reached 54 out of the 128 listed companies whereas the declined ones are 46 companies. As of 24-03-2016, the Telecommunication sector index has the lead over the other indices, with highest increase of 14.6522% to settle at 3673.82compared to 3204.32 points by the end of last year. Followed by the Consumer Staples sector index with an increase of 9.30% to settle at 2097.16 points. Followed by the Real estate sector index with an increase of 8.52% to settle at 5253.48 points. Followed by the Fin/Investment sector index with an increase of 6.51% to settle at 3800.24 points. Followed by the Services sector index with an increase of 4.33% to settle at 1449.35 points. Followed by the Transportation sector index with a decrease of -2.3% to settle at 3254.48 points. Followed by the Banks sector index with a decrease of -2.7% to settle at 2801.69 points. Followed by the Insurance sector index with a decrease of -3.3% to settle at 1229.83 points. Followed by the Industrials sector index with a decrease of -4.2% to settle at 930.732 points. Followed by the Energy sector index with a
decrease of -5.7% to settle at 67.1161 points.
