Excerpts from the Conversation

Can you share the Chemour’s vision? What is the prime focus of the company?
Chemours Company span-off from DuPont in 2015. The company is guided by DuPont’s core values that focus on respect for people, the environment and the practice of maintaining the highest ethical standards. We are committed towards fostering a customer-centric culture while also positioning ourselves as a critical partner in the move to develop business solutions.
Our company focuses on titanium dioxide, fluoroproducts and several specialty products with the vision of providing the highest quality solutions for better living.

What are the business strategies that you kept into consideration while working at Chemours?
Chemours promotes a customer-centric culture with the aim of making its customers feel that they are getting more value from us by working not only for them but with them, hand-in-hand and in close
collaboration.
Therefore, our business strategy is to have an organisational and partner structure as close as possible to our clients, understanding their challenges and helping them achieve their goal.

Which market are you at present focussing on, which in your opinion has high calibre?
We are currently focussing on GCC countries within the Middle East region, which complements how we could envision to become one of the fastest growing companies in the EMEA region.
We are also eyeing the challenging KSA market where we continue to seek the best partners and work to build a stronger presence.

What is your opinion about the Mid-East’s chemical market? Which products are in great demand?
As the largest producer of titanium dioxide in the world, we want to shape the region’s TiO2 market. One of our responsibilities is to promote the latest sustainable opportunities in the local market, such as Ti-Pure One Coat, a collaborative approach combining unique technology, market insight, latest Ti-Pure development TS-6300 and formulation expertise to expand the limits of paint hiding power beyond what was previously possible.

Are there any expansion plans in the pipeline scheduled for this year?
Our aim is to meet the increasing global demand and build further commitment for a sustainable supply. We are completing the expansion of our titanium dioxide plant in Altamira, Mexico, in 2016. With an investment of US$600 million, this facility will have an annual capacity of 200,000 tonnes. Together with our customers, we’re building a better quality of life for consumers around the world.
