The launch of Yateem Eye Center and Day Care Surgery by His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak marks a major milestone in the healthcare sector of UAE. With an ever increasing usage of digital devices, the dry environmental conditions, increasing prevalence of diabetes and health complications; vision related complications are on the rise.
The Yateem brand has been synonymous with high quality eye care in GCC since 1910. The Yateem Eye Center, is the brainchild of UAE’s leading optical expert; Nasser A Yateem. As the Vice Chairman of Yateem Opticians retail optical chain, he identified the need for a specialty eye care center in UAE to meet the needs of the growing population in the region.
The Eye Center is one of the largest specialty centers in UAE and caters to patients from both Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Residents of UAE can now experience the latest in diagnostic/therapeutic technologies by skilled professionals, under one roof. The facility also houses a family medicine clinic, a dedicated pharmacy and optical retail unit.

The facility houses dedicated diagnostic rooms, examination rooms, consultation facilities, Laser room and treatment rooms. With two Operation theaters, a state of the art highly sterile LASIK facility, 6 beds and two VIP recovery rooms; the facility is one of the most advanced dedicated

One of the core features of the facility is the latest world-class diagnostic equipment and surgical equipment sourced from across the globe, making this facility at par with the best eye hospitals in the world. In addition to this, the center has an optical retail unit with a vast range of optical brands. Maybach Icons of Luxury: leather and apparel collection will also be retailed.
The ground floor of the facility has a dedicated pharmacy that specializes in ophthalmic medications.
The Ophthalmologist team of the center consists of Dr Yogesh Kapoor, Dr Satyam Garudadri and Dr Ahmed Afra.
Dr Yogesh, medical director of the facility, specializes in LASIK surgeries and has performed over 10,000 surgeries including highly complicated refractive error correction. He has over 24 years of experience and is a specialist on Corneal Disorders.
Dr Satyam Garudadri is a Vitreo Retinal Surgeon, whose area of expertise is diabetes related retinal complications, age related macular disorder and uveitis while Dr. Ahmed Afra specializes in Glaucoma and general ophthalmology.
The Family Medicine Clinic run by Dr Nadreen Gendeel (General Practitioner) caters to general health complaints and acts as the first line of examination for many patients.
Additionally, the center has a dedicated team of Optometrists, Ophthalmic Nurses, infection control specialists and other allied health care professionals.
