UAE, Turkmenistan discuss cooperation in search and rescue

Yusup Muhammetgulyyev, Deputy Minister of Defence of Turkmenistan, praised the level of preparedness, expertise, high technological systems, and the modern devices used by the National Search and Rescue Centre in the UAE.
He made the statement during his visit to the centre on Tuesday, where he was received by Obaid Saif Al Zahmi, Deputy General Manager of the National Search and Rescue Centre, and several top officials at the centre.
This visit comes as part of the measures to strengthen co-operation and co-ordination between the two countries in the field of search and rescue, where topics of common interest were discussed, and he was introduced to the management centres of search and rescue in the UAE, as well as the latest equipment and methods used in the National Search and Rescue Centre.
The Turkmenistan Deputy Minister of Defence took a tour of the headquarters of the centre in Abu Dhabi, where he was introduced to its different departments and the roles they perform, and he reviewed the latest systems
and equipment used by
the centre, as well as
its search and rescue
system.
The National Search and Rescue Centre aims to strengthen and unify the capabilities and communications, and co-ordinating efforts with the authorities concerned in the field of offering the services of search and rescue within the land, sea and air borders of the UAE, while taking into consideration the speed of response to the event within an hour at the most (the golden hour), with the aim of guaranteeing the safety of the people and their possessions, according to the highest international safety standards for search and rescue.
