UAE, South Africa to strengthen ties

Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, on Monday received President of South Africa, Jacob Zuma, and his high-profile ministerial delegation, at Zabeel Palace.
The South African President is touring a number of countries in the region.
Present at the meeting were HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and HH Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai.
They discussed a number of regional issues and those concerning the African continent and ways of regional and international co-operation to support human, economic, and educational development in the poor African continent.
They also tackled ways of enhancing friendship ties and co-operation towards wider horizons, which were described by Sheikh Mohammed as “very good and are based on joint interests and mutual respect, and witness increasing growth at various levels and in all fields.
President Zuma hailed the level of economic, trade and
investment ties with the UAE. He also welcomed the increase in Emirati investments in South Africa, especially in the private sector.
He also highlighted the cultural boom witnessed by the UAE in various domains, and the sophisticated infrastructure. He also praised the amazing development being witnessed by the UAE in clean energy, education, economic, Islamic and other fields.
Sheikh Mohammed hosted a banquet in honour of the South African President and his accompanying delegation, which was attended by a number of Sheikhs, ministers and top officials in the country.
