UAE key player in implementation of New Silk Road initiative: China

Dr Lee Yang, member of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and Vice-President of the China
Society for Finance and Banking (CSFB), has said that his country seeks to strengthen its relations with the UAE in all fields as it holds a strategic position in the region and is a central player in the implementation of the New Silk Road initiative.
Dr Lee Yang made these comments during a lecture entitled, “The Strategic Dimensions of Emirati–Chinese Relations” organised by the Emirates Centre for Strategic Studies and Research (ECSSR) at its headquarters in Abu Dhabi, in the presence of Dr Jamal Sanad Al Suwaidi, ECSSR Director-General, and a gathering of intellectuals,
academics, researchers, writers and journalists.
Dr Lee Yang praised the ECSSR for being one of the region’s most prestigious scientific and research edifices, and spoke about the major challenges facing the Chinese economy as an entry point to understanding its past and present, and the strategic shift that will occur in the future.
