UAE, Ethiopia to increase trade volume

Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), received Abdul Qader Rasqwa, Ethiopian Ambassador to the UAE, at the FNC headquarters.
Rasqwa congratulated Dr. Al Qubaisi on her election to chair the FNC as the first woman to head an Arab parliamentary institution in the Middle East and at the Arab level.
During the meeting, they discussed co-operation between the UAE and Ethiopia in various fields in the light of the growing relations in various trade, political, economic, investment domains, and an increase in trade volumes between the two sides. They also stressed the importance of developing and strengthening ties to reflect keenness of the leaders of the two countries to strengthen the ties in the best interests of the two friendly peoples.
They also tackled the need to enhance the parliamentary relations between FNC and the Ethiopian parliament through promoting the parliamentary visits between the two sides, as well as to establish a
parliamentary friendship committee to
develop existing relations into wider
horizons.
Al Qubaisi extended an invitation to Ethiopia’s Parliament Speaker to visit FNC.
The Ethiopian ambassador hailed the co-operation between the two sides in various fields as well as the keenness of both sides to enhance them in all avenues, particularly in the educational, cultural, tourist, trade and investment fields.
He also praised the distinguished ties between the two countries and ways to develop them in various economic areas which witnessed notable development and remarkable expansion of UAE investments in the industrial sectors in Ethiopia such as medication and agriculture.
