He wished that the preparatory meeting for the Arab Media Day 2017 would contribute towards achieving its desired goals.
The meeting also discussed a proposal presented by the Arab League’s Secretariat General to select radio as the theme of the second Arab Media Excellence Award 2017, in recognition to its powerful influence and impact. It has been existing for over 100 years and still a reliable source of information. It has had a critical impact upon the lives of communities as it reached a wider audience.
The meeting also tackled the issue of special arrangements to organise the first celebration of the Arab Media Day, to be held on 24 and 25 May under the theme ”The Role of Arab Media in Countering Terrorism.” The award-presentation ceremony will be held on the margins of the 47th meeting of the Arab Information Ministers’ Council.
