Sotheby’s Dubai has announced an exhibition which will unveil modern and contemporary masterpieces from the Middle East. The exhibition will run from October 9-12 at the Dubai International Financial Centre.
Bringing together worldwide highlights from Sotheby’s international auction calendar spanning the forthcoming season, the exhibition will star highly sought-after masterpieces by celebrated artists from the region alongside myriad pieces of historical importance and a selection of extraordinary jewellery.
The show includes the first time unveiling of a superb and exceptionally rare diamond, which will take centre stage during Sotheby’s sale of Magnificent Jewels and Noble Jewels in Geneva.
Edward Gibbs, Sotheby’s Middle East and India Chairman, said, “This weekend, we are unveiling an expansive array of extraordinary art and collectibles, publicly exhibited for the first time ahead of the auctions in London and Geneva.”
“The quality and range of the pieces selected for this auction preview is testament to the evolving art scene in the UAE and the strong connections between the fast-growing community of collectors here and the wider international art market. At the same time, we are thrilled to be able to show highlights from our recently announced inaugural auction ‘Boundless: Dubai’, which will take place later this year.”
The exhibition is open to the public from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. with public events including a gallery tour and talk by artist Nadim Karam.
