Sharjah, Oman Chambers discuss economic cooperation

Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) said that the historical and fraternal relations between the UAE and the Sultanate of Oman is a starting point and an additional incentive to continue working hard for the development of bilateral economic relations to achieve a compatible system within the GCC’s common efforts towards the promotion of joint economic action.
He went to say that these relations will double the frameworks of cooperation among members of the GCC countries and facilitate trade movement, as well as help to increase the size of investment and business partnerships between the private sectors of the GCC countries.
This came during a consultative meeting for officials and businessmen working in both Sharjah and Musandam, Sultanate of Oman, which was hosted by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry at its headquarters, in the presence of a high-level delegation from the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Musandam Governorate, chaired by Hamed bin Mohammad Zaman bin Kamel Al Raesi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Oman, Musandam.
The meeting aimed to support and promote trade between Musandam and the Emirate of Sharjah, and covered aspects of joint economic cooperation, as well as the establishment of joint economic events between the two chambers.
The parties also discussed common investment and economic aspects and the exchange of visits for businessmen, in addition to discussing the reality and prospects of gulf investment and ways to support economic partnership in areas of priority and concern for both countries, through a presentation of the role and contributions of the private sector.
The meeting was attended by a number of senior officials from both sides.
