His Highness Sheikh Mohammed was briefed by Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General of the Dubai World trade Centre Authority, who explained that the One Central project, which is being built on land area estimated at more than half a million square meters in the vicinity of Dubai World Trade Centre, includes buildings, residential, hospitality and commercial towers, recreational and service facilities with high standards and global specifications including offices and towers, all with a Gold rating on the green buildings “LEED” index, including four hotels of three, four and five star categories comprising approximately two thousand rooms and suites, and residential towers consisting of 1,300 apartments and homes, as well as a modern theatre equipped with the latest sound and light technology with a capacity for 2,500 people.
Helal Al Marri said that work is under way on the creation and completion of two buildings for offices, scheduled to be handed over by the end of 2017, in addition to a large external space for retail shops and entertainment.
