Mideast Rail ’16 launched

Under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Dr. Abdulla bin Mohammed Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Minister of Infrastructure development and Chairman of the Federal Transport Authority – Land & Maritime, opened the Middle East Rail 2016 was launched at Dubai World Trade Center on Tuesday.
”The UAE has entrenched its position in the international transport, road and housing sector which plays a vital role in stimulating the UAE economy, which is today of the world’s most vibrant and growing economies thanks to wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and other leaders,” the minister said.
The UAE, he added, has drawn well-studied strategic plans to catapult the UAE to the leadership and excellence position in areas of rail, roads and housing.
The Exhibition has welcomed visitors and exhibitors over a space of 18,000 sqm. Most importantly, this edition is the third one of the conference which is in partnership between Federal Transport Authority- Land and Maritime, Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Sheikh Zayed Housing Programe, whom share the same objective of positioning the UAE as a global hub for rail and transport development and innovation.
The 10th edition of the show represents a 25% increase from last year’s exhibition. The show will host over 300 exhibitors and is set to welcome over 9000 visitors from across the globe, including 600 VIP government officials. Many of the exhibitors have upgraded the size of their stands this year, including Autodesk, Bombardier, Parsons Brinkerhoff & Siemens. The show hosts four country pavilions from Italy, China, Spain, and UK featuring railway supply companies in freight car, locomotive, maintenance-of-way, communications, signalling, leasing, and passenger rail industries.
