Tatjana Ahmed, Housekeeping Manager, Grand Hyatt Dubai, commented, “The purpose of the Excellence Awards Ceremony is to acknowledge success! It is important that we recognize the many dedicated employees who work tirelessly to ensure their properties and spaces are the best they can be. The Excellence Awards provides a platform to not only show how well a certain person has performed in the last year, but it is in fact a sign of how our industry is performing on the whole. Therefore, the cleaning industry will always have a lot to celebrate.â€
Talking about the awards, Victor Bastian, Assistant Vice President, Linencraft commented, “The Excellence Awards recognize talent and performance of the best in the industry, which improves performance benchmarks across the board. Industry personnel are challenged and inspired to develop, grow and to consistently go above and beyond. These awards continue to drive the industry to a higher level of maturity and performance. Laundry and housekeeping, as an industry, often lacks the recognition it deserves. These awards provide immense pride for laundry and housekeeping professionals and positively showcase those I’d describe as our unsung heroes.â€
The criteria for Excellence Award vary for each sector and winners are selected based on the highest standards of excellence in cleanliness, maintenance, and utilization of state-of-the-art technology.
Dorothee Stein, Head of Facility Care, Dubai Airports said, “The Excellence Awards give industry members the opportunity to showcase their professionalism and commitment to their work. Usually our ‘Unsung Heroes’ who are awarded in the ceremony work diligently and silently behind the scenes – although some of them are frontline team members – and they go about their day-to-day assignments without getting much attention. Hence, participating in the Excellence Awards is the perfect event to present themselves to the public.â€
Jayaraman Nair, Chairman, VIS Exhibitions and Conferences – organizer of MECTW said, “We are proud to honor those behind the scenes in the cleaning industry, who ensure that our hotels, facilities and linen are spick-and-span. Since the past 4 years, the Excellence Awards has been a continuous effort towards bringing together these ‘superstars’ of the cleaning sector. The 2017 edition of MECTW is receiving an overwhelming number of interest from every vertical of the cleaning and hygiene industry and aims to recognize, promote and support those individuals who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in the cleaning sectorâ€
