Japan imports 26 million barrels of crude from UAE

Japan imported 26.097 million barrels of crude oil from the UAE in December 2016, according to the latest data released by the Agency of Energy and Natural Resource in Tokyo.
This accounted for 23.3% of Japan’s total crude imports, the agency, part of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, said.
Saudi Arabia provided 44.241 million barrels, or 39.5% of the total, while Qatar, Iran, Kuwait and Russia provided 9.7%, 6.8% 4.9%, and 4.2% respectively.
Arab oil accounted for 80% of Japan’s petroleum needs in December, when Japan’s total crude oil imports amounted to 112.007 million barrels, the agency said.
