In a bid to create a smart vision for the region and to draft a roadmap to connect the cities of the future, Internet of Things Expo 2016 (IoTX) is all set to attract technology bigwigs to Dubai.
Exploring the limitless possibilities that IoT could usher in this modern age, the three-day expo, starting on Tuesday, will focus oon role of robotics and sensors in creating safer communities.
“Many innovative themes revolving around IoT would come to the forth during this world-class expo. One of the core aims is to devise mechanisms to evolve a smart city into a responsive and adaptive city. Besides, utmost emphasis will be upon powering the industrial usage of IoT and harnessing it for cost savings, increasing efficiencies and yielding higher-end products,” said a senior official from the organising committee, preferring not to be named.
Besides displaying cutting-edge technologies, IoTX will host discussions and sessions to explore the infinite world of IoT. It has been structured as an interactive conference and exhibition to improve the learning experience and to offer organic networking opportunities.
As the platinum sponsor of the event, IT giant Cisco will highlight its IoT solutions and demonstrate ‘Real Life’ smart city scenarios at IoTX 2016. Cisco will showcase how customers can embrace digital transformation and accelerate the development of new business models based on the IoT.
“After our successful participation in the inaugural edition of IoTX last year, Cisco is happy to participate in the event once again. Digitisation and the IoT hold enormous potential to drive new experiences, cost savings, and revenues in every enterprise and IoTX 2016 is an ideal platform for Cisco to demonstrate how IoT technologies are playing an important role in improving the quality of life today, and for future generations,” said ShukriEid, Customer Solutions Director, Cisco – Middle East, Africa, Russia and CIS.
This is the second edition of IoTX, which will be held from March 29-31 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
At IoTX 2016, Cisco will showcase key business architectures and solutions that are important for digital transformation including security, cloud, data center and analytics, mobility, application centric infrastructure and collaboration. Osama Al-Zoubi, Chief Technology Officer – Cisco Middle East, said, “Our recently launched Cisco Digital Ceiling framework is set to become the next frontier in the IoT. Digital Ceiling converges multiple building networks – lighting, heating, and cooling, IP video, IoT sensors, and much more – through a secure and intelligent network platform. Digitisation and the IoT hold enormous potential to drive new experiences, cost savings, and revenues in every enterprise.”
Cisco’s Digital Ceiling framework and solution unleash the power of the IoT by linking building services over a single, converged IP network.
