IMF chief lauds economic vibrancy, growth of UAE

HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance, and Christine Lagarde, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), discussed on Wednesday a variety of regional and
global economic and financial
developments and ways to stimulate growth in developing countries.
Sheikh Hamdan and the IMF chief also explored best methods to assist poor countries to implement development projects that generate job opportunities and spur national economies.
Lagarde lauded UAE economic vibrancy and growth amidst global exceptional circumstances due to economic and financial policies adopted by states to protect their economies and maintain acceptable, positive growth rates.
Present at the meeting were Obaid bin Humaid Al Tayer, Minister of State for Financial Affairs, Dr. Rashid bin Ahmed bin Fahad, Minister of State, Mubarak Rashed Al Mansouri, Governor of the UAE Central Bank, a number of officials from the Ministry of Finance and members of the delegation
accompanying the IMF Managing-Director.
