Thirty one new arms deals worth over AED4 billion were announced on the third day of the International Defence Exhibition and Conference, IDEX 2017, bringing the total transactions over the three days to AED15.41 billion.
Brigadier-General Rashid Mohammed Al Shamsi, Official Spokesperson of IDEX 2017, announced at a daily press briefing that 19 of the deals were sealed with national companies and remaining 12 with international companies.
Naval Staff Colonel Fahed Nasser Al Thehli, Official Spokesperson of the fourth edition of the Naval Defence Exhibition, was also present. Al Shamsi declared the following UAE Armed Forces contracts.
A contract worth over AED76.4 million was signed with the UAE based company, International Golden Group (IGG), to build the infrastructure for information and communication technology (ICT).
An AED34 million contract was signed with the Swiss company, Rheinmentall Air Defence, to supply technical spare parts, maintenance and repairs of defence systems for the UAE Air Force and UAE Air Defence Force.
A contract worth over AED828.26 million was signed with the American company, Raytheon, to supply the UAE Air Force and UAE Air Defence Force with air-defence system equipment and spare parts.
A contract worth AED 36 million was signed with UAE based company Al Jaber to supply the UAE land forces with spare parts. A contract with the UAE based company, Naval Advanced Solutions (NAS), was signed to buy over AED 11.24 worth of accuracy defence
systems for the UAE Navy.
A contract was signed with Global Aerospace Logistics (GAL), a UAE-based company, for an additional AED50 million to provide technical and logistical support for all aircrafts.
An AED40 million contract was signed with the UAE based company, Al Masaood, to provide maintenance and repairs for vehicles. A contract valued at AED60 million was signed with the Swedish company BAE Systems Bofors AB, to buy hardware for the UAE Navy.
A contract worth over AED8.93 million was signed with the British company Chemring Technology Solutions, to buy wireless surveillance systems. A contract was signed with the British company HESCO Bastion Limited worth over AED 67.2 million to purchase (HESCO) engineering equipment.
A contract was signed with the American company Harris Corporation Communication Systems for over AED 77.1 million to purchase radio devices and supplementary accessories. An AED 285 million contract was signed with UAE based company Etimad Holding for maintenance of border security systems and critical
infrastructure.
A contract was signed with the Boeing Company, valued at over AED 68.6 million to manage simulations of cargo/freight aircrafts for the UAE Air Force and UAE Air Defence Force. A contract was signed with the Blucher GmbH, a German company, for AED 164.9 million to purchase protective body
armour and supplementary
accessories.
A contract valued at AED 87 million with the German company DST Defence Service Tracks to develop and increase the efficiency of land forces artillery for the UAE Army. A contract valued over AED16.1 million was signed with the Swiss company Solutions Minewolf to buy explosive removal equipment and demining gear.
A contract worth over AED10.1 million was signed with the South African company Paramount to purchase 8X8 vehicles. A contract over AED 84. 9 million was signed with the Jordanian company King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau (KADDB) to buy ammunition for the UAE Army.
A contract was signed with UAE based company Siham Al Khaleej for over AED 226.53 million to purchase and supply ammunition. A contract worth over AED 377 million was signed with UAE based company Abu Dhabi Autonomous Systems Investments Company (ADASI) to offer Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) for aircrafts.
A contract was signed with UAE based company Al Masaood worth AED 54 million to provide technical support. A contract worth over AED 55.95 million was signed with UAE based company Darwish Bin Ahmed and Sons Group to purchase MAN trucks and vehicles for transporting tanks. An AED 5 million contract was signed with UAE based company Armed Forces Cooperative Society to purchase field targets.
A contract worth over AED 275.47 million was inked with UAE based company, CAE Maritime Middle East to buy and install simulations and naval training centre. An AED277 million contract with UAE based company Bayanat to licenses software and the production of spatial information. A contract was signed with UAE based company Al Shammal Military Solutions valued at AED 143.30 million to train pilots.
A contract worth over AED 365.35 million was signed with UAE based company Palms Sports to provide specialised jiu-jitsu and combat training instructors. A contract was signed with UAE based company Matrix for over AED 114. 96 million to facilitate shipping of materials in and out of the country.
A contract worth over AED 96.95 million was signed with UAE based company Emirates Advanced Investments Group to purchase spare parts for military equipment. A contract was signed with UAE based company Horizon Flight Academy valued at AED30 million to train pilots and develop their skills. A contract was signed with UAE based company Atlas Telecom valued over AED 48 million to purchase and install aircraft equipment.
Over the past three days, during IDEX and NAVDEX 2017, the UAE Armed Forces penned a cumulative of 52 deals worth more than AED 15.41 billion. The past two days are split as follows: Day one of IDEX and NAVDEX 2017 witnessed 21 deals worth more than AED4.416 billion and Day two of IDEX and NAVDEX 2017 witnessed an additional 10 new deals worth more than AED6.919 billion.
