Juma Al Majid, the sole distributor for Hyundai vehicles in the UAE is celebrating its win at the Wheels Car of the Year 2016. The All-New Hyundai Tucson was recognised as the best cross over at the gala event which was held at the Address Dubai Mall Hotel. The Awards ceremony was held to recognise excellence in vehicle offering from the Middle East’s automotive industry.

Multiple advanced safety technology options are available for the 2016 Tucson and these include, Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross-traffic Alert, Lane Change Assist, Backup Warning Sensors and a rearview camera. In addition, advanced high-strength steel represents over 50 percent of the new Tucson’s structure, for enhanced crash safety. The vehicle also features a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) that alerts drivers if one or more tires are under-inflated, including the tire’s location.
For a vehicle to be eligible for entry into the Wheels Car of the Year programme, it must be an ‘all-new’ or ‘significantly face-lifted’ model that has been on sale for three months prior to the announcement of the nominated cars. The Wheels awards are determined by 50 percent of the jury members’ votes, with the panel comprising distinguished automotive industry experts. The remaining 50 percent of the scoring is undertaken by readers’ choice via online voting.
