On December 12, 2024, the CCPIT (UAE) Cultural and Creative Exhibition, hosted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), kicked off at the China-UAE Economy and Trade Exchange Center in Expo City, Dubai, UAE. This exhibition aims to further strengthen mutual trust between China and Arab countries in the cultural field, deepen exchanges and cooperation in the cultural industry, and jointly promote the prosperity and development of global cultures.
This exhibition features four carefully curated thematic zones: the Public Image Zone, the Brand Cultural Creativity Zone, the Smart Future Zone, and the Culture and Creativity Life and Art Zone, showcasing the diversity and innovations of the China’s cultural industry. Additionally, the exhibits span a wide range of categories, including Chinese cultural and creative products, Chinese classical decorations, creative furniture and office supplies, traditional arts and crafts, as well as technology-driven gifts and souvenirs, demonstrating the profound heritage of Chinese cultural creativity.
Several renowned Chinese cultural and creative enterprises showcased their distinctive products at the exhibition. Notable participants included the IP of the World of the Palace, Tsinghua University Art Museum Cultural Creations, Longmen Grottoes Cultural Creations, Zhu Bingren Copper, the China Film Archive Cultural Creations and POP MART, all drawing significant attention from attendees. The World of the Palace takes traditional Chinese culture as its spiritual core, releasing a series of cultural and creative products that combine traditional aesthetics with modern living. Tsinghua University Art Museum Cultural Creations and Longmen Grottoes Cultural Creations represent the high standards of museum and tourism destination cultural products, respectively. Zhu Bingren Copper combines exquisite traditional copper carving techniques with modern culture, showcasing innovative molten copper artistry. The China Film Archive Cultural Creations focus on film art, providing cultural and creative products that integrate fun with culture and creativity.
On the morning of December 12, the opening ceremony was attended by a huge number of people, including Zhao Liyan, the Chief Representative of CCPIT Representative Office in Gulf Area, Najeeb Mohammed Al Ali, the Executive Director of Expo City Dubai Authority, Liang Jing, the Director of Office of the People’s Republic of China in Dubai, Salman Bushelaibi, Heritage Sites Department at Dubai Culture &Arts Authority, Museum Specialist, Zhang Li, the General Manager of China National Machinery Industry International Co, Ltd., Chen Xinrong, the President of PetroChina Middle East, HUANG Yi, the Director of Legal Affairs Department, Shenzhen Municipal Committee of China Council for the Promotion for International Trade, as well as relevant government departments, business associations, exhibitors, buyers and media representatives from the UAE.
In her speech, Zhao Liyan, the Chief Representative of the CCPIT Representative Office in the Gulf Region, emphasized that the cultural and creative industries are a bridge connecting different countries and cultures, playing a significant role in promoting Sino-Arab cultural exchanges and mutual learning. She stated that the United Arab Emirates is among the Middle Eastern countries with the deepest cooperation, the broadest range of cooperation fields, and the most fruitful results with China. As natural partners in the Belt and Road Initiative, China and the UAE have made solid progress in both pragmatic economic and trade cooperation and cultural exchanges, which have yielded fruitful outcomes. This cultural and creative exhibition aims to further consolidate and deepen mutual trust and cooperation between China and the UAE in the cultural field and jointly promote the prosperity and development of global cultures.
At the opening ceremony, the “Chinese Visual Input Method” was globally launched for the first time. This technology combines the essence of Chinese culture with modern technology, providing a new tool for cultural exchanges among China, the UAE and the world.
On the afternoon of December 12, the China-UAE Cultural and Creative Cooperation Forum, themed “Hand in Hand, Creating a New Era for Sino-Arab Cultural Creativity”, was successfully held. Experts and scholars from both China and the UAE discussed Sino-Arab cultural exchanges and integration issues at the forum. This forum facilitated cooperation between the two countries in the cultural field, creating new opportunities for the development of their cultural and creative industries.
2024 marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the UAE with bilateral cooperation achieving remarkable results. This CCPIT (UAE) Cultural and Creative Exhibition, through its diverse exhibitions and various exchange activities, enabled UAE audiences to gain a deeper understanding of the vastness and richness of Chinese culture, experiencing its unique charm. This event not only injected new vitality into the cultural exchanges and cooperation between China and the UAE, but also made a positive contribution to the prosperity and development of global cultural diversity.
