Dubai Trade, the premier cross-border trade facilitator, has announced the 9th edition of its annual flagship event, the E-Services Excellence Award (ESEA). The event aims to recognize the best performers in the e-Services adoption on Dubai Trade portal and celebrate the success of digital transformation in trade and logistics activities.
Categories for the 9th ESEA will remain the same as the last cycle with one new smart service award to be added, totalling 10 main and runner-up winners across different categories, including the Smart Services Awards for M-Token, Free Zone, Clearance, Payment Services, and a Smart Services Award for Shipping Services which has been introduced this year. Continuing last cycle’s theme, winners will be nominated based on the number of mobile transactions on the Dubai Trade Portal throughout 2016 inspiring the use of smart services to support the government’s smart city initiatives.
Additionally, the 9th ESEA will recognise two innovation awards for the Best Innovative Project and the Best Innovative Idea in the trade and logistics industry, developed by individuals or organizations based
in the UAE.
Also Dubai Exports, the export promotion agency of the Department of Economic Development (DED) in Dubai, in line with its mandate and mission to empower and diversify Dubai’s economic growth by
offering pioneering export services to business, is collaborating with Dubai Trade for the 2nd consecutive year to offer two special awards to the
exporters in Dubai with the titles New Exporter of the Year and the Innovative Exporter of the Year.
H.E. Jamal Majid Bin Thaniah, Chairman of Dubai Trade, said, “Dubai Trade has always endeavoured to enhance and ensure faster trade and logistics procedures under one user-friendly platform, and the
ESEA has been great at encouraging the adoption of these smart services.
We will continue to celebrate the success of the industry through this initiative, and we hope it will motivate individuals and companies to participate each year.â€
Eng. Mahmood Al Bastaki, CEO of Dubai Trade added, “The ESEA award ensures that Dubai remains a pivotal hub for global trade and logistics. It marks the efforts made to encourage a smooth transition into a smart city being the first award in the region based on actual adoption rates. The doors are open for all individuals and companies in the UAE from now till end of the year to increase their mobile transactions with the use of smartphones to be eligible
to win the award and they are welcome to nominate their innovative projects and ideas to be acknowledged in the Innovation awards.â€

The previous three consecutive ceremonies were held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai.
