“Proud Expressions”, the touring art exhibition dedicated to honouring the UAE’s heroes, dropped anchor in its second stop at The Dubai Mall, running from May
8-15, before moving on to its third stop in Ras Al Khaimah’s Al Hamra Mall.
Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Happiness, attended the inauguration ceremony, which features works of art submitted to the “Proud Expressions” campaign, accompanied by a number of government officials, artists, and general public.
“Proud Expressions” is one of the main initiatives under the campaign “The UAE Remembers”, launched by the Martyrs’ Families’ Affairs Office, MFAO, at the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court to engage all segments of UAE society in expressing, through works of art, their pride and gratitude for the sacrifices made by the UAE’s brave heroes.
Commenting on the event, Ohood Al Roumi said, “Our heroes’ bravery will remain ingrained in our memories forever; those who steadfastly sacrificed their life for the country’s security and stability, and gave all that is valuable for the safety of our society. Through their relentless valour, positivity will remain the main characteristic of our nation.”
“The ‘Proud Expressions’ initiative reflects our heart-felt appreciation for great devotion of our heroes, and their honourable acts of courage towards their country,” Al Roumi noted.
A joint effort between the MFAO and the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority, the campaign received more than 300 submissions from professional artists, members of society, and school and university students from across the UAE.
Submissions included selected artworks from prominent Emirati artists, including Abdul Qader Al Rais , Dr. Najat Makki, Jalal Loqman, and Khalil Abdul Wahed. In addition to Mona Al Khaja, Azza Al Qubaisi, Obaid Suroor, and Abdulrahim Salem.

The art exhibition offers an ideal platform for the community, artists, students, and other individuals, to commemorate the sacrifices of the UAE’s brave heroes.

Participants and the rest of the community have been invited to join the conversation and share their feelings of pride and gratitude using the hashtag #The_UAE_Remembers.
