Al Qattara Arts Centre, operated by Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi) as a creative arts hub and gallery in Al Ain’s historic Al Qattara fort, is contributing to Al Ain Book Fair (AABF) with a wide range of cultural and arts activities.
Highlights of the Al Qattara Arts Centre Pavilion include an educational arts workshop that offers visitors insight into the centre’s events, as well as storytelling sessions for children.
Creating a fun and interactive atmosphere for the young audience, a storyteller from Al Qattara Arts Centre’s cultural arts programme narrates a captivating tale accompanied by background music, answering questions about the storyline following the performance.
This year, the Centre will also showcase a collection of works by artist and engineer Moaded Al Kaabi, which shed light on the accomplishments he has achieved over his artistic career.
In addition, Al Qattara Arts Centre’s music programme will feature a wide assortment of musicians playing music from around the world.
The Pavilion will also offer panel discussions with the centre’s artists, including pianist Golmera, visual artist Ali Hammad and calligrapher Mohammed Mandi, who will discuss the positive influence and richness granted to people’s lives through reading.
“This year marks Al Qattara Arts Centre’s fifth consecutive participation at Al Ain Book Fair,” said Huda Al Belushi, Supervisor of Al Qattara Arts Centre. “I am pleased to say that we have seen tremendous success so far, establishing the Centre as a central landmark. Our pavilion has welcomed more than one thousand visitors since launch day, mainly comprising school and university students.”
Home to modern collections and dedicated halls for educational experiences, the mission of Al Qattara Arts Centre is to provide space for the community to study and practice arts, and to be part of the Centre’s ongoing development process.
The Centre is home to a multi-purpose studio for music and artifacts, another studio for visual arts and a fully-equipped one for pottery, as well as a digital room for photography
and computer lessons, a studio
for calligraphy, a showroom, a café and a library.
