Saudi women earn more than men in private sector

Women’s wages are higher than men in the private sector, according to figures released by the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA). Their monthly salary average is SR3,497 whereas for men it is SR2,417, while the gross average for both is SR2,417. However the percentage of average wage growth for men in 2015 was higher than women, increasing by 4.8 percent relative to the previous year when the average stood at SR2,235 in the private sector.
In 2015, women’s wage averages increased by 3.5 percent from the previous year when it stood at SR3,378. The Eastern Province registered the highest wage for both men and women with the average wage standing at SR12,085. Riyadh cam in next with a gross average wage at SR10,430, while Makkah reached SR9,166, Madina recorded SR8,460, Asir had SR7,364, Tabouk had SR7,351, Jouf reached SR6,863, Jazan reached SR6,781, Qassim recorded SR6,674.
