HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Muhannad Hadi, Deputy Special Coordinator and Resident Coordinator, Office of the United Nations Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process (UNSCO).
During the meeting, which was held in Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Abdullah and Hadi discussed the overall developments in the Middle East region, the worsening humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, and ways to further enhance regional and international efforts to address its repercussions through coordinated and sustainable mechanisms. The talks touched on the urgent priority of reaching an immediate ceasefire at this stage to protect the lives of all civilians and support efforts to address the difficult humanitarian situation in Gaza.
Sheikh Abdullah welcomed Hadi, highlighting the UAE’s firm commitment to the Palestinian people and its full support for Hadi’s efforts to provide the necessary humanitarian response to support civilians in the Gaza Strip and alleviate their suffering.
The meeting was attended by Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, and Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Development Affairs and International Organisations.
