Gidea to accept UnionPay Cards in Saudi copy

Gidea Technology Company launched a new service to the payment sector market in Saudi Arabia, which facilitates the linking system of electronic for Saudi banks with UnionPay network “the global payment network that serves the world’s largest cardholder base” through the Saudi Payments Network System (MADA) in cooperation with the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency.
It is the first service in Saudi Arabia associated with the UnionPay network, where it comes within the company’s ongoing drive to develop electronic payment services and support all banks in the Kingdom by adapting the latest technologies.
Now, UnionPay credit card is available to the public clients in the Saudi market, the clients now can take advantages of this service in purchasing, operations through POS devices and ATMs in Saudi Arabia. Currently UnionPay cards are accepted in 157 countries and regions around the world.
Taking in consideration the importance of this card for visitors to Saudi Arabia from China, being one of the most actively traded credit cards in China, especially with the arrival of large numbers of pilgrims throughout the year who were facing a lot of difficulties in using Point Of Sales devices & ATMs in Saudi Arabia earlier.
The launch ceremony to announce Gidea official POS deployment roll out to KSA market with UnionPay card acceptance was attended by Wang Han, General Manager of UnionPay International Middle East and Mr.Hany Al Deeb, Regional Country Manager Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Iraq market.
Abdullah Al-Othman, head of Gidea Company for technology, said, “that the payments services is witnessing an unprecedented development, the company is keen to keep up with the latest global technological systems by applying in Saudi market.”
