His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Monday received the visiting Commander of United States (US) Central Command Joseph Votel, at Al Shati Palace.
Sheikh Mohamed welcomed Votel and discussed with him friendship and co-operation between the UAE and the US, and ways to enhance them, especially in light of existing co-operation and co-ordination in the areas of military and defence as well as the importance of boosting ties in the best interests of the two friendly peoples.
They also exchanged views on the latest developments in the region as well as a number of issues of mutual concern.
Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Bowardi, Minister of State for Defence Affairs; Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Affairs Authority (EAA); Yousef Al Otaiba, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the United States of America; Mohammad Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Under-Secretary at the Court of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince; Major General Lt. General Juma Ahmed Al Bowardi Al Falasi, Adviser to Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Force, and Major General Isa Saif bin Ablan Al Mazrouei, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces attended the meeting.
Barbara A. Leaf, US Ambassador to the UAE and the accompanying delegation of U.S. Central Command Commander were also present.
