Dozens of Saudi German Hospital’s (SGH) doctors volunteered for humanitarian missions of the Zayed Giving Convoys in their current stop in order to alleviate the suffering of Rohingya refugees in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh through providing the best diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive services.
Dr Reem Othman, SGH’s CEO and humanitarian ambassador, stressed that the volunteers presented a great example of charitable work and generous humanitarian giving through their volunteer work in the Emirati field hospital and its mobile medical units equipped with the latest specialized medical equipment, including reception, emergency, intensive care, laboratory and pharmacy units, which comes, as she pointed out, in line with the ‘Day for Dubai’ initiative launched by HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council to strengthen the spirit of volunteerism in the hearts of individuals and encourage them to devote parts of their time to engage in volunteer
activities to serve the society.

Dr Othman , CEO of SGH Dubai, said that the Hospital works in coordination with Emirates Volunteering Centre and under the supervision of Emirates Programme for Community and Specialised Volunteering, highlighting the Hospital’s keenness to provide the necessary support with its partners in the humanitarian medical work in order to enable the volunteering doctors to alleviate the suffering of thousands of refugees, who suffer tragic situations in light of the deteriorating health conditions which threatens with the spread of infectious and epidemic diseases, especially among children and the elderly.
Commissioner General for Refugees and Stateless Persons praised the efforts of SGH Dubai in providing administrative and technical support and enabling the medical cadres to fulfill their humanitarian duties towards Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh.
