Zayed University to host ‘research symposium’

Zayed University is gearing up to launch the second annual UAE Quantitative Research Symposium (QRS) that brings together UAE-based researchers with their international counterparts in Abu Dhabi campus on March 1.
Organized by the College of Business at Zayed University, The annual QRS will be held under the them ‘Leading Edge High Quality Research in Business Sciences’ with great emphasis on quantitative research using robust data that can drive decision making.
The one-day conference aims to promote world class quantitative research and develop a research culture of excellence.
Findings, that are presented and discussed in exceptional and high-quality research papers during the conference, will be incorporated into classroom instruction so that Zayed University students are aware of leading edge research in Business Sciences.
Florencio Lopez-de-Silanes, Professor of Finance and Economics at EDHEC Business School, who has been repeatedly distinguished for research achievements and won Harvard’s Wells Prize for the Best Dissertation in Economics, will give a keynote speech at the opening session of the QRS.
Professor Lopez-de-Silanes graduated from Harvard with a PhD in Economics and joined EDHEC Business School in 2007 as Professor of Finance. Specialized in international corporate finance and financial markets, legal reform, and privatization, he heads the Fund Governance Research
Program at the EDHEC-Risk Institute.
