Zayed University to empower Emirati workforce

Zayed University and Marsh, a global leader in insurance broking and risk management, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Zayed University in Dubai campus in the presence of Robert M. Makhoul, Executive Chairman of Marsh Middle East and North Africa and Professor Reyadh AlMehaideb, Vice President of Zayed University.
Zayed University and Marsh will partner together on Al Ataa sponsorship program which aims to empower the Emirati workforce in order to strengthen the UAE economy for long-term success, to enhance Emiratisation goals and boost corporate social responsibility programs.
Al Ataa program will allow sponsored students to gain adequate financial incentives, continuous academic and professional support and practical training opportunities throughout the academic year.
Professor AlMehaideb said: “We are proud of our collaboration with Marsh. The signing of this MoU reinforces our commitment to supporting students academically as well as to provide young Emirati talent with a golden opportunity to develop their skills and to come up with innovative ideas that can have a positive impact on the economic growth of the country.”
“This MoU will help to achieve the objectives of the UAE National Agenda; to develop the national competencies and skills, encourage and motivate Emiratisation polices and to complement the UAE Vision 2021 that will establish the UAE as one of the best countries in the world,” AlMehaideb added.
Professor AlMehaideb also pointed out that Zayed University’s aim is to build, invest and contribute to the development of the nation through its people. Therefore, Zayed University has made sure that all students have access to a high-quality education and has developed extensive training programs for UAE nationals so that they can harness their potential and highlight their talents.
For his part, Mr Makhoul expressed his gratitude and pleasure in collaborating with Zayed University saying: “Marsh is proud to support Al ‘Ataa Sponsorship Program in association with Zayed University. We are looking forward to working together to identify, train and develop Emirati students in the field of insurance and risk management. Our organization believes in making a difference in the moments that matter in people’s lives – supporting Al ‘Ataa program is an example of this philosophy.”
Al Ataa is not the first sponsorship program where Zayed University has provided support to young, talented Emirati’s by assisting with their recruitment once they graduate and guaranteeing career opportunities. Zayed University has also partnered with other organizations, which identify high potential young students from Zayed University and offer them opportunities to realize their creative potential and particular talents and interests.
The MoU signing was also attended by Sareaa AlKtbee, Student Support Specialist at Zayed University, Robert M. Makhoul, Executive Chairman of Marsh Middle East and North Africa, Monindra Grover, Regional HR Leader-Marsh MENA, Fareed Lutfi, Executive Advisor – Marsh, and Amna Al Shamsi, HR Emiratisation Specialist – Marsh.
