Zayed Humanitarian Day reflects UAE’s commitment to humanitarian values: Suhail Al Mazrouei

DUBAI / WAM

The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI) organised a host of charity initiatives to celebrate Zayed Humanitarian Day, observed on 19th of Ramadan every year.
In a statement on the occasion, Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, said, “Zayed Humanitarian Day is a day of giving back to society. It reflects the UAE’s commitment to the humanitarian values that Sheikh Zayed instilled in the UAE people. Our wise leadership has continued on the same path of giving and helping those in need.”
He added, “Charitable and humanitarian work is part and parcel of our community, reaching people in need wherever they are across the globe. The UAE was one of the first countries to extend a helping hand to our brothers and sisters who were affected by the war in Gaza, providing life-saving aid to alleviate their suffering. This is but one of many examples of the country’s philanthropic efforts.”
The Minister applauded the UAE’s support of communities worldwide through contributing to their renewable and sustainability drives.
The ministry launched initiatives to mark the Day, including distributing Ramadan food baskets to families with limited incomes and blue-collar workers, handing out packaged iftar meals to fasting people, and organising a mass iftar for the ministry’s support staff in the presence of Sharif Al Olama, Undersecretary for Energy and Petroleum Affairs at MoEI.
