His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, discussed on Thursday with HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, bilateral relations and ways to enhance them in the best interests of the two fraternal countries and peoples.
This came when Sheikh Mohamed received Sheikh Tamim, who is paying a fraternal visit to the UAE. Sheikh Mohamed welcomed Sheikh Tamim in his second country, wishing more progress to the relations between the two countries.
During the meeting, they reviewed fraternal relations between the two countries and ways to boost them in the best interest of the two countries.
The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Emir of Qatar confirmed the keenness of the two countries to co-operate with the GCC states and support the joint GCC action to achieve more welfare, progress and prosperity for its peoples as well as address challenges facing the region based on common history, objectives and destiny.
They tackled overall Arab, regional and international developments and also exchanged views on issues of mutual interest.
Sheikh Mohamed hosted a lunch banquet at Mushrif Palace in honour of Sheikh Tamim and his accompanying delegation.
The meeting and the banquet were attended by HH Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser; HH Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the State Security Department; Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Deputy Secretary-General of the National Security Council; Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Affairs Authority (EAA); Mohammed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Under-Secretary at the Court of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince, and Saleh Mohamed bin Nasra Al Amri, UAE ambassador to Qatar.
While on the Qatari side, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Qatari Foreign Minister of International Cooperation Affairs; Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Thani, Chairman of the Qatari Emiri Diwan; Chief of State Security, Ghanim bin Khalifa Al Kubaisi, and a number of other officials from the Qatari delegation, including Hadi bin Nasser Mansour Al Hajri, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the UAE, attended the event.
