President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Abdel Fattah El Sisi, received on Thursday at Al-Ittihadiya Palace, HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and his accompanying delegation.
During the meeting, they discussed cooperation between the UAE and Egypt, issues of mutual concern, and the latest regional and international developments.
President El Sisi welcomed Sheikh Abdullah and the delegation accompanying him, saying that the meeting availed an opportunity to discuss and strengthen bilateral relations between the two sisterly countries.
Sheikh Abdullah conveyed the regards of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to President el-Sisi, and his best wishes to Egypt’s leadership and progress and prosperity to its people. He referred to the depth of the historical and fraternal relations between the two countries and their keenness to boost them in the best interests of the two countries.
They also reviewed the growth of the distinguished relations between the UAE and Egypt, thanks to the support of the leaders of the two countries to serve common strategic interests between the two countries and the two peoples.
President El Sisi and the UAE minister also tackled the latest regional and international developments and exchanged views on a number of issues of mutual concern, with emphasis on exerting all efforts to bring peace, security and stability, and the fight against the hotbeds of terrorism and extremism in the region and the world.
Egyptian President asked Sheikh Abdullah to convey his regards and best wishes to the UAE President, stressing his country’s keenness on developing and strengthening the fraternal relations between the two countries to serve the interests of the two countries and the two brotherly peoples.
The meeting was also attended by Juma Mubarak Al Junaibi, UAE Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League.
Abdullah takes part in Arab foreign ministers consultative meet
HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, participated in the consultative meeting of Arab foreign ministers, held in Cairo on Thursday ahead of the 146th ordinary session of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level.
The participants discussed major topics, notably, the Palestinian issue, and crises in Syria, Libya and Yemen, as well as efforts to combat terrorism. They also addressed the Iranian interference in the internal affairs of the region, and the Turkish interference in Arab affairs. They discussed the efforts to rid the Middle East of nuclear weapons as well as development and reforms in the Arab League.
The meeting was attended by Juma Mubarak Al Junaibi, UAE Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Khemaies Jhinaoui, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tunisia, whose country chairs the current session, and Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the Arab League.
