TRA launches charitable initiatives to mark Zayed Humanitarian Day

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authorities (TRA), marked Zayed Humanitarian Day by launching a series of charitable initiatives, reflecting the humanitarian values of the founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
The initiatives and activities include all segments of the society, reflecting the clear message that Sheikh Zayed’s legacy is universal and his charitable work always included the needy all over the world. The initiatives include the distribution of vouchers to some TRA workers enabling them to purchase Eid necessities and celebrate properly with their families and children.
Additionally, a group of TRA employees have volunteered to distribute Iftar meals in a Ramadan tent, in cooperation with ‘Beit Al Khair’ Society. These activities were concluded with a cultural lecture at TRA office entitled ‘Mastering the work’, delivered by Sheikh Abdulla Musa from the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities. The TRA also organised a number of other initiatives, such as ‘Farhat Eid’, and ‘Abayati’ launched by Eve Committee in TRA to collect cloaks during Ramadan, distributing them to needy families, in cooperation with the ‘Beit Al Khair’ Society.
Commenting on the occasion, Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, TRA Director-General, said, “We are proud to belong to a country whose name is associated with the noble humanitarian values of giving, charitable work, and assisting those in need. We also take pride in the example set by the founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who dedicated the culture of charitable and humanitarian work in the thoughts and consciences of all UAE citizens.”
Al Mansoori added, “Today, we are following the same path under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the announcement of 2017 as the year of giving is a clear message about this. Our celebration today is only a revival of the meanings of generosity, giving, love and tolerance in a country where different cultures and nationalities live in an atmosphere of mutual tolerance and respect. The commemoration of this anniversary also reflects the authenticity of the UAE people and their exemplification of the spirit and thought of ‘Zayed the giving’.”
