Snickers, Mars, Milky Way, Celebrations chocolate bars safe: ADFCA

Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) said Snickers, Mars, Milky Way, Celebrations chocolate bars in the markets of the emirate of Abu Dhabi are safe and meet the UAE standards.
Earlier this month, chocolate giant Mars recalled these bars in 55 countries worldwide, including Holland, after the discovery of a piece of plastic in a bar produced in a company plant in Holland. Mar Netherlands recalled these bars from Dutch markets after the discovery.
Abu Dhabi’s food regulatory body, in coordination with the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, recalled the impacted batches of these products when it received an alert from the European Commission that some batches of these products had arrived in the UAE markets.
Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority said samples of these bars were tested in the emirate just as a precautionary measure to ensure safety.
It urged consumers to report any product defects through Abu Dhabi Government’s toll free number 800555.
