H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union (GWU), Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF) and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, today received the visiting International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director, Christine Lagarde, at Al Bahr Palace.
Lagarde hailed the role being played by Sheikha Fatima to empower Emirati women and support them in all fields as well as her initiatives aimed at giving attention to childhood and motherhood care. She added that Sheikha Fatima’s initiatives were not limited to the local society but they also included the regional and international level.
H.H. Sheikha Shamsa bint Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, wife of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region, H.H Sheikha Al Yazia bint Saif bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, wife of H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Cooperation and Dr. Maytha bint Salem Al Shamsi, Minister of State attended the meeting.
