It was a fun-filled morning for the children of Sheikh Khalifa Medical City’s Children’s Cancer Ward as they received a surprise visit from their all-time favourite cartoon character, Shaun the Sheep.
The ward was quickly filled with the smiles and laughter of dozens of children as they watched Aardman’s famous animated character perform. A variety of gifts were distributed while the mascot provided engaging interactive entertainment for the audience, ensuring the children had more than just memories to cherish following the event.
Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi) organised the appearance as part of CSR programme, exhibiting the Authority’s commitment to provide initiatives which support extending outreach activities for the 2016 Abu Dhabi Summer Season to the community. The visit was arranged in association with Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC) and MBC Group, and was designed to bring a whole range of exciting activities to the children at the hospital.
Shaun the Sheep will be providing interactive entertainment for all to enjoy during Abu Dhabi Summer Season 2016.
The all-new, non-ticketed show Shaun the Sheep Live is scheduled from July 14-August 6 at du Forum, Yas Island, and July 27-30 at Al Ain mall. Mini Shows featuring Shaun and friends will be held from the end of July to the beginning of August at various locations throughout the emirate. Characters from the acclaimed cartoon series will also be found during Abu Dhabi Summer Season’s Fun Nation event, held from July 14 –August 6 at the du Forum, Yas Island.
Abu Dhabi Summer Season 2016 is a programme of leading international theatre shows, comedy acts, concerts, circus performances, and more that will be held at venues across Abu Dhabi city, Al Ain and the Western Region. The season will span Eid Al Fitr, the school holidays and Indian Independence Day.
