Safe and secure environment key to development: Mohammed

Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum commended the critical role of the State Security Apparatus in enhancing security and safety of the community and preserving its gains.
A safe and secure environment is one of the key pillars of development, Sheikh Mohammed stressed on Wednesday, while inaugurating the new building of the State Security Apparatus in Dubai.
HH also unveiled a plaque before his tour of the building, during which he was accompanied by Lt. General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chairman of Police and Public Security in Dubai.
During the tour, Sheikh Mohammed was briefed by the director-general of the State Security Apparatus about the progress of work, achievements made by the security agency and plans to be implemented within Dubai Plan 2021 which aims to make Dubai one of the world’s safest cities.
Sheikh Mohammed also inspected other under-construction buildings before he stopped at the historical museum and exhibition.
HH watched a demonstration by the special force and then viewed the state-of-the-art technologies used by the apparatus to perform its duties and missions.
Also present at the inauguration were His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, HH Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, and HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Dubai Ruler issues decision on Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Award

In his capacity as Ruler of Dubai, Vice President and Prime Minister, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has issued Decision No. (17) of 2016 on the formation of the Board of Trustees of the ‘Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Award’ under the chairmanship of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
Pursuant to the Decision, members of the new Board include Jamal Khalfan bin Huwairib, Vice Chairman of the Board, and representatives of the United Arab Emirates University, Cairo University, Nanyang Technological University, Oxford University and National Geographic. The Board serves for a renewable term of three years. This Decision is effective from the date of issuance and will be published in the Official Gazette.
Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Award is an annual award that recognises significant contributions to the advancement of knowledge and encourages individuals and entities to innovate. The award also aims to contribute to the development of a knowledge-based economy.
