Reem Mall appoints Funtastic to manage retail design, delivery

Reem Mall, Abu Dhabi’s major new up and coming retail, leisure, dining and entertainment destination, has appointed Funtastic as Retail Design and Delivery Managers for the US$ 1 billion project. The work on site commenced in late 2015, and the mall is expected to launch in 2018.
Funtastic is a design and project management service company specialising in the retail and leisure industry with offices in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Singapore. Their services include Development Planning and Implementation, Retail Design and Project management, Centre operation and Property management. Funtastic has previously overseen the Retail Delivery of several major projects in Dubai and Abu Dhabi including The Beach JBR, City Walk I and II and Box Park in Dubai. They are currently also engaged with the Midfields Terminal, Deerfield’s Mall in Abu Dhabi, as well as the Ajman Gateway projects.
Shane Eldstrom, Chief Operating Officer for Reem Mall, said: “Funtastic will provide important coordination and management services for our future tenants. Reem Mall will deliver 2.8 million sq ft of floor area retail, leisure, and dining and entertainment choices. It will comprise around 450 stores, including 85 Food and Beverage outlets and a range of family-focused entertainment offerings. The mall will be well positioned on Reem Island with easy access to and from the mall and will contain 6,800 parking spaces.
The venture is being developed by NREC and UPAC.
