Outdoor Lighting Projects aims to curb power usage

Dubai’s Demand Side Management Strategy has initiated strenuous efforts towards achieving its aim of reducing the Emirate’s energy, electricity and water consumption by upto 30 to 40 percent by 2030.
One of the critical pillars of this strategy ‘Outdoor Lighting Program’ is all set to host its much-awaited annual event ‘Outdoor Lighting Projects UAE’ event that will see the participation of firms working sustainably to achieve this goal. Besides offering lucrative business opportunities, this event will act as a positive catalyst boosting the Emirates drive of becoming one of the most eco-friendly nations.
“The Dubai Supreme Council of Energy has set the goal of reducing energy demand by 30 percent by 2030. Recently, the UAE Ministry of Energy and Etihad ESCO has signed a MoU to develop Federal Energy Services Market in the UAE,” said one of the senior organisers of the Outdoor Lighting Projects UAE.
“To achieve a reduction in the UAE’s energy demand, retrofitting and refurbishing existing buildings while reducing the water and electricity consumption have been identified as core strategy. In addition, retrofitting outdoor lighting networks with energy efficient systems will also be critical,” he added
In a bid to achieve this goal, there would be ‘RetrofitTech UAE 2016’ that will be co-located with the Outdoor Lighting Projects UAE, which is scheduled from March 14-15. This is aimed at providing networking opportunities through shared exhibition areas,
with over 200 government representatives, project owners, and industry stakeholders.
“We are committed to include various eco-friendly elements and technologies in our projects that would facilitate in decreasing the dependence on power. We would be showcasing our pioneering technologies at this two-day event,” said Mohamed El-Masri, the Head of Business Development of Sharjah Oasis Real Estate Co.
He will be one of the panelists and key speakers at this event.
“We have been able to attract and secure prominent interest from regional and international developers, operators and funding partners with whom negotiations are underway,” he added.
Spread across 36-kilometer of coastline, Sharjah Waterfront City will be the largest commercial, residential and tourism development in the rapidly developing Emirates of Sharjah. Sharjah Waterfront City consists of a series of ten islands inter-connected by natural canals and it has villas, apartments, offices, hotels, water theme park, marine clubs and parks.
