The National Archives has participated in the third edition of Aqdar World Summit, with the aim of enriching the summit’s events with the history of the UAE and to inform the world about the International Council on Archives Congress 2020, which will be hosted by Abu Dhabi next year.
The summit, which is being held in the Russian capital Moscow, and concludes on Sunday, coincides with the launching of Moscow Global Forum, which brings together a group of UAE ministers, senior officials, academics and researchers.
The participation of the National Archives highlighted the history of the UAE as a model of a tolerant environment to the world. The National Archives believes that the march of the UAE since its establishment under the leadership of the UAE’s Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and the development and prosperity it achieved under its leadership – deserve to be an ideal approach in the empowerment of humans and in creating the stability and sustainable development of societies.
Given the importance of the ICA Congress 2020 with the participation of thousands of archivists from around the world to discuss global archival issues in the field of archiving and documentation, the National Archives will brief the participants in Aqdar World Summit in Moscow on the ICA Congress 2020, which will be held under the theme (Empowering Knowledge Communities).
On the sidelines of the summit, the National Archives organised a documentary exhibition that includes historical photographs of the history of the UAE and highlights the efforts of the Founding Father in developing the country.
The National Archives distributed a number of its publications to the participants in the summit: “Zayed Man who Built a Nation”, “Zayed from Challenges to Union”, “Khalifa: Journey into the Future”, and “Qasr Al Hosn”.
The summit is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
