Mohamed and Emir of Qatar discuss ties, regional issues

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, on Thursday discussed ways to strengthen fraternal relations and also reviewed regional and international issues.
During the meeting held in Abu Dhabi, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed welcomed the Emir of Qatar, expressing his happiness over the visit, which comes within the framework of promoting fraternal relations between the UAE and Qatar.
They reviewed bilateral relations and ways to enhance them to new levels with wider, fruitful and constructive co-operation in the best interest of the two countries, and within the framework of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for Arab States. The meeting also discussed ways to exchange views on key issues and the latest regional and international developments.
The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi said the UAE, led by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, supports what it takes to enhance the strategic co-operation among the GCC states. He also referred to the kinship, love and fraternal relations that bind the GCC citizens and give them strength and stamina to stand up to various challenges.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed hosted a luncheon in honour of the Emir and his accompanying delegation.
The meeting and the banquet were attended by HH Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser; Ali Mohammed Hammad Al Shamsi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Supreme National Security Council; Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority, and Mohammed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Under-Secretary of the Crown Prince Court of Abu Dhabi.
On the Qatari side, the two events were attended by Hamad bin Khalifa Al Attiyah, Special Adviser to His Highness Emir of Qatar; Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdul Aziz Al-Thani, Chief of the Qatar Emiri Diwan; Sheikh Thani bin Hamad Al-Thani and Hadi bin Nasser Mansour Al-Hajri, Qatar’s Ambassador to the UAE.
Emir of Qatar concluded his visit to the country. He was seen off at the presidential flight in Abu Dhabi by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed.
